Mini Site Submission
|
Resources | | | PHP Success Tools - Easy PHP pages for your site. Submit Express - Submit your site to +20 search engines so it gets indexed fast. Types of pages to put on your site:- About Us
- Contact Us
- Earnings Disclaimer (if it's a "make money" product)
- Privacy Policy - extremely important. In fact, if you use Adsense, it's required.
- Sitemap - you can join Google Webmaster tools here and use a sitemap creator here. Please note that a sitemap just informs Google of every page inside your website. If you plan on making a mini site like Fast PPC, you don't need a sitemap in my opinion since there's only 1-2 pages in your website and you DON'T want Google indexing your download page telling the world where to download your product for free.
On your download page, be sure to put this code into the top:
<html> <head> <title>...</title> <META NAME="ROBOTS" CONTENT="NOINDEX, NOFOLLOW"> </head>
Put the bold code above within the head HTML tags.
This is what will keep the search engine spiders from indexing your download page if they happen to come across it. Although, myunderstanding is Alexa's spiders just ignore this altogether but it's the best defense you have.
- For Example, put this stuff AFTER the <head> tag:
<Head> <TITLE>THIS IS THE TITLE YOU SEE IN THE TOP OF YOUR BROWSER</TITLE> <meta http-equiv="Content-Type" content="text/html; charset=iso-8859-1"> <META NAME="DESCRIPTION" CONTENT="TYPE A DESCRIPTION HERE"> <META NAME="KEYWORDS" CONTENT="KEYWORD 1, KEYWORD 2"> <META NAME="ROBOTS" CONTENT="INDEX, FOLLOW">
Put "index, follow" if you want search engines to index the page and follow the links to wherever they lead to. Put "NOINDEX, NOFOLLOW" on pages you DON'T want indexed by search engines such as your download page. - Terms and Conditions - lawyer legal crap that may talk about COPPA rules and regulations.
- Affiliates - for those of you that want to set up an affiliate program.
- Testimonials - if you have some
- Disclaimer
- Terms of use
- Copyright
That's about all I can think of. You DON'T need all of them but I recommend an about us, contact us, and privacy policy as the core essentials. |
